Beta-Caryophyllene

  • Aroma: Woody, spicy, peppery [12] 

  • Effects: Improves moods and a general sense of well-being.

  • Pharmacological Properties Include:  Antispasmodic activity [1, 2, 9, 11], antiviral [1], antidepressant [1, 9, 14, 54], analgesic [2, 9, 10, 14], anti-inflammatory [2, 3, 9, 10, 15, 56], anti spasmic in gut muscles [2], gastroprotective [3, 9, 10, 11, 14, 56], antioxidant [9, 10, 14, 56], antiviral [9], local anesthetic [9], antifungal [9, 10, 14, 15], anticancer [9, 10, 12, 14], antimalarial [9], antipruritic [9], anxiolytic [9, 10, 54], neuroprotective [10, 14], antibacterial [10, 14], antiarthritic [51], anticonvulsant [54, 57], cardio protectant [56], hepatoprotective [56], antimicrobial [56], and immune-modulatory [56].
